Diptych: Children of the Batavia. Girl and the Barracuda and Boy with the Sharks

Bevelled glass reverse painted
82 H x 82 W x .8 D cm

We construct our landscape with our stories. With the wreck of the Batavia, Europeans wrote their first story on Australian soil. It is a story of heroic good and unimaginable evil and is contemporary with the great period of Dutch realism - inspiration for the figures used in this work.
