The Sunset Theatre (set of four)

Fused and polished glass
20 H x 22 W x 6 D cm

I tried to capture the essence of the sunset, all the nuances of red, pink, purple, shine...

Impossible to express...

Sunset is not an image - it's a process, ever-changing; like theatre, a new play every evening...

I decided to show all perspectives, the striking ruby red and subtle pale lilac at the same time, four different combinations of red and lilac incorporated between the layers of clear glass. Every one of these objects offers a different image. The view from either the side or top shows layers of shiny clear glass with tiny lines of colour, whilst the same piece looks rich transparent ruby red from the front.
