The tradition of ex-voto, the offering of objects to a deity in exchange for favour, is a display of faith occurring in many cultures. It is a passage through which devotees can access the divine. The object becomes animate, piety and longing coursing through its very presence. The heart sings a song in the hopes of a miracle.
