Typical of my current works practice, Marilyn comments on the social construction of the feminine. According to Frigga Hauge, "Female sexualization...[is a] complex and intricate process by which women learn to please others, to attract the male glance and gaze. Female sexualization...is ultimately concerned with achieving the right body parts - with the right hair, breasts, legs and behaviour - the right walk, the right eye movements. Female desire, then is socially constructed as the passive complement of male desire rather than as a distinctly female "I want"."
