Water in the desert/Forgiveness & Acceptance
Cast and cold worked glass
8 H x 8 W x 1.5 D cm
I live by the sea on the West Coast of the Southern Island of New Zealand where the rainfall is tremendous. I am drawn to the desert. This piece, from an ongoing series of expression dealing with the survival of water in the desert, is about the compression of water through layers of rock.
Forgiveness/Acceptance is a contemplative sculpture, a reflection on the actions of indigenous peoples of the Pacific Rim in the pursuit of their rights. This work was created for understanding, forgiving and accepting. It is a Ritual Blade of the Peacemaker.
