Vertigo #1 (Totally Under Control)
Fused, cast and polished glass
83 H x 9.5 W x 8 D cm
Controlling the creative process can sometimes cause a vertigo.
I’m challenging myself to the limit of my PATIENCE – first to cut 284 layers from thin glass sheets, then to assemble a mosaic of tiny glass elements and fine frits on EACH sheet, (each sheet is slightly
different from the previous one), then NOT to mix up these 284 layers, because they must be fused together in particular order to form several interwoven spirals and to create a sense of movement inside a glass obelisk. Well, that causes dizziness and…VERTIGO.
To add more challenge and increase vertigo, I decided to make the shape wavy.
(P.S. If you do not feel vertigo after 2 minutes, please follow ascending yellow dots.)
