Painting on glass (grisaille technique)

My entry into this competition – after a four year break – coincides with a new body of work I am presently working on.
I start with a canvas of unfired black enamel on clear glass and then gently brush and scratch back to reveal the light.
I enjoy exploring both tight control and spontaneity that can be achieved in this method of ‘painting on glass’.
