Bait 'n' Tackle

Reproducing the well known fishing fly. The fish hook is for many cultures a prized utensil, and a method of survival. In coating the hook in glass, I'm rupturing its meaning of existence by detracting from its purpose. Changing the medium of the fly renders it useless as a tool for catching fish and places an emphasis on the aspect which intrigues me, the aesthetic object. Using them as a lure I shall play the same trick on the viewer as the fisherman did with the fish.
