The original idea behind these pieces was that of shell forms transmuted into glass, but envisaged from their inception as being fused with sound. Initially the 'sound of the sea', inherent in a conical shell, sparked the suggestion of 'sound sculptures'. The 'sea sounds' have been transmuted through the perceptions of the composer into more complex and atmospheric sound impressions. Viewers are invited to link the pieces with their sounds to form their own perceptions of the intentions behind each piece.
