Glass has a succinct visual language, its placement and interaction with other material elements in a scultptural sense broadens the parameters of current discourse. I incorporate this notion both theoretically and pragmatically in my latest work 'Triage'. As Susan Stewart notes in 'On Longing', "the toy is the physical embodiment of fiction: it is a device for fantasy, a point of beginning for narrative. The toy opens an interior world, lending itself to fantasy and privacy in a way that the abstract space, the play ground, of social play does not. To toy with something is to manipulate it, to try it out within sets of contexts, none of which is determinate."
